The Harvey Nichols Premium Napa Cabernet Sauvignon 2017 is a blend of 92% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Petit Verdot, 3% Cabernet Franc and 1% Malbec made by the legendary Joseph Phelps. A sizeable chunk of the grapes are declassified fruit from Insignia 2017 (a wine that retails for more than £250 a bottle and was awarded 96 points by Decanter, Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate, James Suckling and Jeb Dunnuck). With its sublimely bold combination of lush crème de cassis, blackberries, red cherry, cranberry, pomegranate, dark chocolate, graphite and savoury spices, you’ll be California dreaming down to the last drop. Joseph Phelps took over his father’s construction business in the 1960s. The company secured a contract to build a winery in Napa Valley, and he promptly fell in love with the region. In the early-1970s he bought a cattle ranch near St Helena and began planting vines. In 1974, he and his winemaker, Walter Schug, created the iconic Insignia – California’s first proprietary Bordeaux-style blend. This wine changed the course of American wine forever. Today, Joseph Phelps farms more t
